March 12th The Scholarship Committee will be presenting the Fourth Annual St. Patricks Party fundraiser. The proceeds go to fund Central Avenue Area's student endeavors in education through the C.A.B.A. David Alvarado Memorial Scholarship Fund!

Director Clare Green of the Wyandotte County Regional Prevention Center will present some grave statistics regarding substance abuse among our teens. She will present measures the RPC is taking to combat these dangerous levels of abuse. The Regional Prevention Center puts on Town Hall meetings to educate and implements programs engaging volunteers to counteract the influences our youth face today. $5 at the door. Everyone Invited!

St. Patrick's Party is being planned for Saturday Evening, March 13th, 2010. This benefits the C.A.B.A. David Alvarado Memorial Scholarship Fund. A fine buffet dinner will be served by Ross' Catereing with entertainment provided by The Fairfax Four. All table reservations paid by March 1st will receive special Irish Draught for eight! CABA is looking for a few good students with goals and good grades. Our scholarship committee will be soliciting applications for local students. These scholarships are funded through C.A.B.A. David Alvarado Memorial Scholarship Fund financed with our bid St. Patricks Party (see below). Safe Night for Halloween Saturday, October 31st, 5:00 - 8:00PM. Bethany Community Center located just north of Central Avenue between 110th & 12th Streets. Several Community Groups, KCKPD and KCK Parks and Recreation will provide a fun (and "frightful") and safe evening for children. Haunted House provided by Black Police Offices Association, plenty of candy for costumed attendees and hotdogs provided by Neighborhood Groups.

32nd Annual Central Avenue Parade will kick off at 11AM, Saturday, September 12th! Floats Galore, Horses, Schools, Marching Bands, THE WORKS!
